Two years ago an artist friend of mine, Hilde Lambrechts, had the vision, drive and passion to start a new art show here in Ottawa: The Annual Figureworks Show, now in its third year. Starting a brand new juried show single-handed was no mean feat. It’s now gone through a couple of cycles with commercial galleries (each sprinkled their own thing on the endeavour) and this year the exhibition is continuing with more of an artist-led approach, showing at Saint Brigid’s Centre for the Arts in November. This show just goes from strength to strength. Submission deadline is coming up on October 3rd, so get your submissions ready!
