Hi Break-a-Brush Members!
A flash of white, almost as lightening……a radiant golden corona and the luminosity of translucent new leaves. This is Spring. In our magical land that is Canada.
Capturing the impossible chromatic energy of new and renewed life is not always the point in a work of art- the impression of it very often is. A bit like viewing the Pleiades, or Seven Sisters constellation. You can make out a blob of stars by looking at it directly, however by using your peripheral sight, the individual stars come into focus.
One theory might be that this is because the drama of energy is not confined to a single point. It relates to everything around it. It disturbs, pushes, flows and moves us – even when we’re not physically touched by it.
Don’t be afraid to venture into colour and unexpected paint strokes for the sake of integrating energy into your work. Mother nature certainly isn’t! It’s this magic that keeps the work eternally interesting!
Over the past month, we hope that you’ve enjoyed our regular the posts as well as our three new “Methods Pages”. Links to each are included below.
This coming month, we have new pages in the works that build on the concepts already launched: integrating drawing and painting, colour and perspective, plus a range of sound painting techniques in watercolour, acrylic and oil. There will be new video segments to come, including more in our series of “Studio Insights” and sneak peeks into David’s creative studio work!
Last but not least, we’re looking forward to our final two Spring workshops and planning our summer workshop program in beautiful Wakefield Quebec (Details: http://www.breakabrush.com/workshops/)
