At a workshop earlier this year, I had the opportunity to comment on one of my personal favorite paintings – Tom Thomson’s Jack Pine. As with most master works, the image did not appear in one creative burst. Let’s look at this treasure, through which I explore something of Tom Thomson’s painting process and comment on the times that framed his creative genius.
