Weekly Brush Bristles – the mirror never lies!

Edouard Manet, A Bar at the Folies-Bergère, 1882.

“The mirror is a good judge for you to know. It is marvelous how every weakness in a painting is so manifestly deformed in the Mirror” Leon Battista Alberti (c1404 – 1472)

As some of you well know, I second this idea … I don’t think I ever leave my studio without looking at my work in the mirror. It’s so effective because it forces a different view – the brain has to recognize and see the image all over again. Try it!
