Celebrating 10 years of Break-a-Brush Workshops – Join us for a visit to the National Gallery!

A decade of Break-a-Brush Workshops

Ten years ago, on a winter vacation, we decided to have lunch at a Mexican restaurant. It was a cloudless, mid-December day and our barefoot walk along the beach was fairy tale. Near the end of lunch, we talked about all things art, Canadian in particular. After a lull in the conversation, France said ¨what if we were to put together workshops featuring the Group of Seven – beginning with Tom Thomson. These might be well received by artists back home.¨ We scribbled excitedly on a napkin, thought it over quietly and decided to act. We planned the first workshop right there – set up our website, sent out emails, sent out a payment link….and the rest is history: thousands of outstanding works of art by brilliant people right here in our community.

On 23 February 2013, we ran our very first workshop. 150 workshops and courses later, we’re celebrating! We invite you to join us for an informal tour of some personal favorites at the National Gallery.

We meet on Thursday, 23 February 2023 (10 years to the day!!) at 5:30pm (free admission!) in the main atrium area at the top of the ramp. RSVP to david@davidkearn.com
