I’m endlessly drawn to people, capturing reflections of the human condition. My paintings are frequently inspired by an étude, often rough and ready, taken from life itself. I’m inspired by quiet breaks, where a model appears to be taking a rest from more dramatic poses, looking for the unusual, perhaps a feeling of internal dynamics. My images appear quiet and self-possessed, yet somehow not quite what they seem. People are not always where they appear to be.
