Hi Break-a-Brushers,
This January, we launched our on-line courses with “Expressive Portraits with Acrylic”. Some of us are not necessarily linear in our art processes, myself included – and we’ve invited participants to use the courses in a flexible way – the courses are structured to suit participant needs and are self-paced.
We’re now halfway through the posting schedule for the first course and have been invigorated by all of the feedback and coursework to date. The companion “Expressive Portraits with Oil” is now set-up and the first lesson scheduled to be posted on the 4th February. We have some eager watercolourists waiting for March and the start of their course: “Expressive Portraits with Watercolour.”
January included two “Brush Bristles”, featuring the Victorian artist, educator and critic, John Ruskin. Following these posts, a Break-a-Brusher sent an interesting article on Ruskin, one of the contrarian, perhaps visionary characters of the era. You can find this through the following link: https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2018/aug/30/john-ruskin-artists-victorian-social-critic
We’re always delighted to see some of your recent work and January has been no exception. Thank you all for sharing your art!
Break-a-Brush,
David & France
